    What you need:

    • The ideal candidate will be resourceful, solution driven and possess events co-ordinating and office administration experience including invoicing, spreadsheets & MS Office.
    • Able to build and maintain strong positive relationships with clients and hotel team members
    • The ability to prioritise, plan, pay careful attention to detail, and work to deadlines
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while handling multiple tasks, no one day will ever be the same
    • Relevant hotel, administration  or event experience or equivalent qualification would be an advantage

    • Flexibility to work in other departments if asked

    Working hours are generally from Monday to Friday from 8:00am until 4:30pm. Sometimes assisting on Conference floor when required and occasionally times outside these hours may need to be covered subject to business levels.

    Preference will be given to applicants with a knowledge of OPERA PMS and/or Sales and Catering software.

    The Job itself:

    • Effective management of the hotel’s operation whilst on duty.
    • Directing and observing Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and other laws and regulations
    • Liaise with all departments to ensure guest needs and expectations are being exceeded
    • Meeting and greeting of VIP guests and tour escorts
    • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of Opera, Micros and PABX systems and reporting any abnormalities and ensuring the systems are properly maintained always
    • Monitor the operational aspects of all Food & Beverage facilities in the hotel and assist ware required.
    • Ensuring the Security of hotel’s property, issuing floats/ cashing up and stock requisitions to outlets as required.
    • Ensure that the incident procedure is complaint wit the hotel Standard Operating Procedures.

      Applicants with the following qualities will be considered:
    • A current NZ General Managers Certificate
    • A current First Aid Certificate
    • 12 months experience with Opera or a similar Property Management System
    • Previous experience in a front office role
    • Hotel and/or customer service experience
    • A friendly smile and excellent communication skills
    • Excellent grooming


    We are looking for someone with a high standard of personal presentation and a friendly helpful demeanor.  The Duty Managers are trusted with a high level of responsibility and guest safety so must be experts at self-management and be capable of performing in busy hotel situations.


    Flexibility in working hours will be required as the working roster will be spread over 7 days including evening and morning shifts.
